Robots in Disguise will be boxart free, and news on additional toys in the RiD line
Visit the link to read a discussion, beginning with Cyclonus2010, explaining why there will not be individual boxart for toys in the Robots in Disguise line! Some of the points visited upon were Hasbro's desire of uniformity of the line and savings in cost.
Cyclonus2010 also reveals that "yes, the Machine Wars jets ARE being used and later in the line some BW and BM figures may be repainted as Destrongers."

Grimlock's New Brain! He's a Genius!
X-E offers another look inside the demented logic presented by the original Transformers TV series. The episode in question is a popular one for fans of the lovable Dinobot commander, and was re-released by Rhino last year on VHS. As a matter of fact, the helmet he wears in this episode will be included with the PVC figure soon to be released by Takara. See a press scan of this figure here Zac

TF Comic Info Update
Brandon Hammonds has just informed me, via email, that there's some useful information on page 22 of Wizard #115, in the Buzz Bin. According to him, it "said that Top Cow decided to pass on the rights but Pat Lee is still chomping at the bit to work on one." So while it doesn't look like we're going to get that TF comic from Top Cow, it seems instead that Pat Lee (the guy that did that awesome TF piece of art in Wizard a little while ago and longtime Transfan) is still eager for the job! Here's hoping that works out!

Possible Transformers Comic From Top Cow?
Trentulas of the AllSpark found some discussion at Dreamwave about the possibility of a Transformers comic in the future. In the course of discussion, it was revealed that Top Cow is pursuing the rights on behalf of Dreamwave. Unfortunately, it seems that there's some flaming taking place by more anal members of Transfandom in Dreamwave's guestbook. Please go and offer some words of encouragement, or as Trentulas said, "if you're leery of it, at least post your concerns as politely expressed reservations, not venomous flames and attacks."

Beast Wars on PS2 a Reality?
Metroplex of the AllSpark recently found out that a Beast Wars game for the Sony PlayStation 2 remains on track for a fall 2001 release, and was not a misprint as earlier suspected at sources like Electronics Boutique. It is likely a revamp of the Beast Wars Transmetals game released last year, although the man responsible for bringing the original game stateside, RaveStrike, is not involved in it.

BeastCon is Cancelled!
Bad news abounds for you Canadians that were planning on a convention other than BotCon. BeastCon, the Canadian version of BotCon, is similar in most respects, though not as hyped or well-known. Unfortunately, as reported by Xychodisqqo of the AllSpark, word is that this BeastCon is cancelled. This comes as a big blow to Canadians that were planning on this instead of BotCon.
